Families Enjoy Summertime Savings While Preventing Summer Learning Loss

Amusement parks and ice cream trucks are just a few things kids look forward to once summer begins. Parents however, often worry about the learning loss that may occur. At Kumon, the world’s largest math and reading program, students develop the skills needed to gain an academic advantage once school begins. Families that enroll now through July 8 at Kumon of Dedham will receive free registration for each child enrolled.

According to the National Summer Learning Association, all young people experience learning losses when they do not engage in educational activities during the summer. “Joining Kumon provides a chance for children to develop the solid foundation needed to excel academically once school resumes,” says Dominique Ciccarelli, education spokesperson at Kumon North America.

Whether children need additional help or are seeking enrichment, Kumon’s math and reading programs feature lesson plans that are individualized to each child’s need. As a year-round program based on ability rather than age or grade, Kumon aims for all its students to study above grade level. This is an accomplishment many Kumon students throughout the country and abroad have experienced.
