Friends of the Blue Hills Celebrate 35 Years at Annual Event on October 9

Friends of the Blue Hills Honor Dedham Savings on Thursday, October 9, 7-9 p.m. at Fuller Village, 1372 Brush Hill Road, Milton

The Friends of the Blue Hills will mark their 35th year at their Annual Celebration on Thursday, October 9, from 7-9 p.m. at Fuller Village in Milton. Tickets for the event are $35 if purchased by October 3 and $40 at the door and are available at www.FriendsoftheBlueHills.org/celebrate35. The evening will include hors d’oeuvres, silent auction, a special 35th year retrospective, and the presentation of the Community Partners Awards.

Dedham Savings is the presenting sponsor of the organization’s milestone celebration, and the bank will also be presented with a Community Partners Award for their longstanding support of Friends of the Blue Hills. Peter G. Brown, President and CEO of Dedham Savings, is pleased to be recognized at the event. “Our bank has a strong commitment to this community, which includes the Blue Hills Reservation,” Brown said. “We are pleased to support the efforts of Friends of the Blue Hills and of our customers to protect and preserve this park for future generations.”

There will also be a special raffle as part of the festivities: a once-in-a-lifetime dinner for six at the top of the Blue Hills Observatory, the oldest continually operating weather observatory in the country. The winner will enjoy breathtaking views of the Boston skyline and the ocean while dining on an elegant meal catered by the hot new Milton restaurant Steel & Rye, which was recently named “Best of Boston- South” by Boston Magazine. Tickets for the raffle are $15 each or 3/$35 and can also be purchased on the Friends of the Blue Hills website.
