Here Are the Businesses Dedham Residents Want In Town

Dedham residents are craving another grocery store, with suggestions for a Trader Joe's or Market Basket being the most popular.

DEDHAM, MA — Dedham has seen lots of new businesses open this past year, especially restaurants. The Small Batch Cafe, Horse Thieves Tavern, and Grateful Dedham Diner all brought new small business eateries to town. Three new stores opened at Legacy Place this year too.

Still, there's always room to improve, so Patch asked what kinds of new businesses residents would like to see open in Dedham. Residents flooded the Facebook comments with plenty of suggestions. Here were some of the most popular suggestions Patch received:

Grocery Stores

Dedham has a Stop & Shop, Whole Foods, and a Star Market, but Dedham residents said they'd like to have at least one more option. The two most popular suggestions were to open a Trader Joe's or a Market Basket.

Restaurants

Dedham has had a few restaurants open this year, and residents were eager for more. A Japanese restaurant not at Legacy Place, Thai food, and a gluten free eatery were the most popular suggestions.

Shopping

With Legacy Place and plenty of other businesses along Route 1, Dedham has long been known as a shopping destination. Still, residents had ideas for stores, and the one suggested the most by a large margin was the Christmas Tree Shop. Other suggestions mentioned included Lush, a shoe store, and a gourmet wine and cheese shop.
