Hooters Appeals Liquor License Denial

In April, the restaurant was denied a license by the selectmen.

DEDHAM, MA - The selectmen's decision to deny Hooters a liquor license has been appealed.

In a letter to the Alcohol Beverages Control Commission, lawyers for the restaurant requested an appeal hearing. The letter was dated May 2 and sent to the town on May 4, according to the Dedham Transcript.

In April, the board voted to deny a liquor license transfer from Summer Shack to Hooters. Prior to the vote, Selectman Dennis Teehan cited a 500-signature petition against the transfer, the restaurant's hiring practices that may conflict with the town's equitable hiring by-law., and a risk of saturation as the reasons for the denial.
