Investigation Into Armed Robbery Suspects Continues
A police chase stretching from Boston to Dedham put a quiet neighborhood under lock down on Friday.
DEDHAM, MA — Boston detectives are still investigating the armed robbery that led police on a chase into Dedham on Friday, forcing a brief shelter-in-place order on a neighborhood in the town. Police have not released whether the suspects were caught but said the investigation continues.
On Friday afternoon, Dedham police were tipped off by Boston police that armed robbery suspects were headed their way in a black BMW after a heist in the city. The car was driving down I-95, bringing State Police into the chase, and headed into Dedham through Exit 16A. Once in the town, the suspects ditched the car on Short Street at the intersection with Violet Avenue and took off on foot.
Police from five different departments set up a perimeter in the area to catch the suspects and residents in the area were warned to stay in their homes as the search continued.

A retired police officer told a Dedham officer that he saw some suspicious people in the area. Surveillance video from a nearby business was reviewed and the suspects who are believed to have abandoned the car on Short Street were spotted getting into another car and leaving the area.
The shelter-in-place was lifted in Dedham since there was no longer a threat to the community.
