Owner Katerina Iliades, whose family has served the Boston Greek community for decades, says many of the foods enjoyed during Lent reflect long-standing Greek culinary traditions. “Lent is a forty-day season leading up to Easter when many families embrace traditional fasting foods rooted in the Mediterranean diet,” says Iliades. “The dishes enjoyed during this time — from beans and vegetables to seafood and olive oil — have been part of Greek culinary traditions for centuries.” During the Lenten season, many Christians avoid meat and dairy, turning instead to a vibrant variety of Mediterranean dishes that are naturally plant-based and deeply rooted in Greek culinary tradition. At Greek International Food Market, customers can enjoy a wide selection of traditional homemade Lenten meals including: Okra in tomato sauce Greek string beans (fasolakia) Stuffed grape leaves (dolmades) Giant beans baked in tomato sauce (gigantes) Bean salads and Mediterranean vegetable dishes The market also carries a large variety of Lenten pantry staples and imported Greek products, including vegan Greek pies, Mediterranean vegetables, canned and dried beans, and an extensive olive bar featuring a wide selection of Greek olives. Dedham Community House Summer Camp: A Summer Kids Look Forward To Dedham Community House Summer Camp sits in the heart of Dedham and has served local families for more than 100 years. DEDHAM, MA — Baby bunny season is in full swing, according to Dedham Animal Control Officer Jayson Tracy. During the spring months, it's common to find rabbit nest like the one Tracy found in the picture above. If anyone sees a nest full of adorable baby bunnies like this one, Tracy said its best to cover them up and let them be. "The mother bunny is very stealthy and is usually close by waiting to take care of them," Dedham police said on Facebook. "If you think something has happened to the mom, please call Animal Control."
