Juanita Allen Kingsley presents "Winter Health & Safety" at MetroWest YMCA
Century Health Systems recently collaborated with the MetroWest YMCA to present "Winter Health & Safety for Older Adults."

Natick, Mass. – (January 25, 2016) – Century Health Systems, parent company of Natick Visiting Nurse Association and Distinguished Care Options, recently collaborated with the MetroWest YMCA to present “Winter Health & Safety for Older Adults.”
Juanita Allen Kingsley, W-EMT, Century Health Systems’ Director of Business Development, provided attendees with practical tips to maintain good health and safety during the cold winter months.
In her presentation, Kingsley addressed physical safety both inside and outside of the home; what to do in the event one becomes stranded in a snowstorm; pet safety; safe heating tips; frostbite and hypothermia; first aid; and more.

“The safety of those in our communities is of paramount importance, and New England winters can pose significant but avoidable health events,” said Judith Boyko, RN, MS, MBA, Century Health Systems CEO. “Older adults are especially at risk for conditions like hypothermia or frostbite if they don’t dress appropriately, and activities like shoveling can put a strain on one’s heart,” she added.
Century Health Systems’ next presentation, “Caring for the Caregiver,” will take place at the MetroWest YMCA will take place on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. Attendees will address the steps caregivers can take to preserve their own health and well-being.
