New Stats: Opioid Deaths in Dedham Slightly Decrease
The state's Department of Public Health has released new data.

DEDHAM, MA - The state's Department of Public Health has released new data on deaths caused by opioid overdoses.
During 2015, Dedham had three confirmed deaths caused by an opioid overdose. That is a decrease from last year's total of four. In 2013, there were three confirmed deaths.
In Norfolk County, deaths have increased from 124 in 2014 to 144 last year. Since 2000, there have been an estimated 976 deaths from opioids.

Middlesex County has seen the most deaths on a county level with 293 last year and 1,966 since 2000.
The data doesn't include the amount of Narcan used or the number of overdoses reversed through using the life-saving medicine.
