Oakdale Square is in Bloom with help from Dedham Civic Pride
Local business help to support this popular program.
The Blooms Program of Dedham Civic Pride brings a ribbon of color to Oakdale Square each year when the black flower pots are placed around the Square in the spring. During the summer those spring blooms grow and blossom filling the planter and often spilling down the sides. According to many studies, beautification draws customers, reduces shopper stress, and enhances store appeal. Trees and other ornamental plants beautify otherwise bland areas. They help create a positive aesthetic environment that attracts and welcomes customers of local businesses. Stores with landscaped areas have proven to make shoppers feel more at ease, and also contribute to the appeal of a store.
This year Dedham Civic Pride had five local businesses and organizations adopt a Blooms pot. Dedham Civic Pride would like to recognize The Oakdale School, The Oakdale School PTO, Advanced Oakdale Dental, F.W. Webb and Oakdale Coffee and Pizza Shop for their financial support this year. Sponsorship fees ($100) for the Blooms pot help to underwrite the cost of maintenance and watering of the pots from April through mid November. There are some pots still available in Oakdale Square that need a sponsor. If your organization or business is interested in adopting a pot, please contact Janet Holmes at 781-249-9258 or email dedhamcivicpride@gmail.com.
