The Open Mic at the Paradise Café is held the first Thursday of every month.

· Two-song sets or equivalent for spoken word

· Music, poetry and other spoken word suitable for a general audience

· Live performance of voice and instruments only

· No recordings or backing tracks—there is another name for those venues

· Supportive environment, new and nervous welcome

· Accommodations include mics, bass amp, floor monitor

· Electric instruments can plug into mixer board via d.i. boxes provided

· Small amps, effects pedals are OK but please be quick and efficient setting up
