Police Nab Driver In Dedham When Woman Says He Won't Let Her Out
A woman texted her friend who called 911 saying a man she had recently met was holding her against her will.

DEDHAM, MA — A Canton man who his passenger claimed was holding her against his will was stopped by police on I-95 and arrested Wednesday afternoon. State Police said the 40-year-old suspect is not being charged with kidnapping, but with threats to commit a crime and unlicensed operation.
The ordeal started around 3 p.m. when police received a call from a woman who said her friend, a 26-year-old Berkley woman, had arranged for a man she recently met to drive her from Waltham District Court to South Easton. The Berkley woman texted her friend she was being held against her will.
Police sent out an alert for the suspect's 2010 Lincoln MKS sedan, which was found to driving on I-95 South near Exit 15B in Dedham. Troopers stopped the vehicle and arrested the suspect. No weapon was found on him or the vehicle, police said.

Police are continuing to investigate. The suspect's name is not being released as the nature of his relationship to the victim in unclear.
