Potential Dedham Package Swipers Arrested In Waltham: Police
After a Waltham resident said they saw a stranger take a package and drive off in a car, police arrested two in connection.

WALTHAM, MA — Police say they've arrested two Waltham residents in connection with stealing packages off the front porch of a home in the city, thanks to the quick thinking of a neighbor.
Police arrested Matthew Watson, 21, and Madeleine Lally, 19, both from Livgingstone Lane and charged them with receiving stolen property worth more than $250 on Dec. 21, but noted more charges might come later.
Just before 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21, a Waltham resident called police to report they saw someone take a package off their neighbor's porch and jump into a car where there was a girl in the front seat. The resident jotted down part of the license plate and the type of car and gave that along with a description of the two young people in the car to police.

Waltham Police took the partial plate number and matched it to a car that the resident had described. It was registered to Watson. When police went to the home to check it out they found the car out front, the engine still warm, they said in a press release.
Both were arrested and police said they found more than a dozen packages they said they confirmed were stolen out of Waltham, Dedham, and Weston.
