Q: Is Town Hall Open?

A: No. Town Hall is not currently open to the public. The Town Clerk's office is essential and will continue to have limited staff available 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday to process requests and answer phones.

Q: Can I still get a Birth, Death, or Marriage Certificate?

A: Yes! Birth, Marriage and Death certificates can still be ordered by mail by sending a written request, check payment and self addressed, stamped envelope. Each certified copy is $10. Download the request form.

Q: Has the Town Election been postponed? When is the new election date?

A: Yes. The Select board has voted to postpone the April 11th Town election to a date still to be determined. A reverse 911 call will be made to announce the new election date once it has been determined by Town Clerk Paul Munchbach. Town Election signs will be updated once the new date has been selected.

Q: Can I still register to vote for the local election?

A: Yes! Under the proposed legislation, residents 18 years and older can register 10 days prior to the new election date as opposed to the usual 20 days prior. Please mail in a voter registration form or apply online. Download the voter registration form.

Q: I am getting married soon, how can I apply for a marriage license?

A: Dedham is not currently making appointments for marriage licenses as Town Hall is closed. if you are a Dedham resident and your ceremony is within the next month please call or email us so we can try to accommodate you. Please note that you need to know when, where and who is performing your ceremony. If you are a resident in another community, please contact your local Town Clerk's office to apply.

Q: I want to vote in the upcoming election, what are my options?

A: There are three options to ensure everyone has the opportunity to vote in the upcoming election.

  1. Vote in person on Election Day once that date has been set. The the polls will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  2. Request an absentee ballot be mailed to you. Request an absentee ballot application.
  3. Vote early by mail. Request a ballot for early voting.

Q: Has the date of Town Meeting postponed?

A: Yes, to a date to be determined in the interest of public health.

Q: I haven't licensed my dog yet this year, will I get a late fee?

A: You can still license your dog through the mail by sending in an updated copy of the rabies certificate, payment check ($10 if neutered/spayed,$15 if not) and a self addressed stamped envelope. Town Clerk Paul Munchbach has also extended the due date of licensing until June 30, 2020.

Q: How can I drop off State or County Primary Nomination Papers?

A: There are three ways to turn in Nomination papers to get signatures certified:

  1. Turn nomination papers in through the drop box to the left of the back door of Town Hall.
  2. Call the Clerk's office to make an appointment for drop off or pick up.
  3. Mail them to 26 Bryant St. to the attention of the Town Clerk's office.
