Road Rage Suspect Allegedly Threatens to Kill Dedham Driver

A driver on Bridge Street was verbally threatened and nearly attacked with scissors during a road rage incident on August 13.

Dedham Police call it a case of road rage after an erratic driver allegedly threatened to kill another motorist on Bridge Street last week, a police report indicates.

According to police, on two separate occasions, the suspect in this case threatened another driver in a verbal manner and again with a dangerous weapon.

On Thursday, August 13, a Dedham resident informed police about a road rage incident in which he had been a part of. The victim said he was threatened twice after an individual nearly ran him off the road.

The victim told police he was driving along when a gray vehicle pulled out onto the road from a parking lot and nearly stuck him. According to the man, the erratic driver also crossed over the double yellow lines, nearly smashing into on-coming traffic.

The situation later turned violent when the two drivers came to a stop at a red light at 50 Bridge Street. According to the victim, the suspect began screaming profanities from his window and at one point stated, “You better smarten up or I will blow your brains out.”

The two drivers continued into Boston. At a second stop light, the suspect exited his vehicle and approached the victim with a pair of scissors. The victim, who had two kids in the car, was forced to flee the area.

The victim was able to note the suspect’s plate number. Dedham police identified the suspect and plan to pursue a hearing against him for charges of threats to commit a crime.
