Roslindale Man Charged with Robbing, Assaulting 89-Year-Old Dedham Man
Nicholas M. Durfee, 35, is charged with breaking into the home of an elderly Dedham man.

DEDHAM, MA - A Roslindale man attacked an elderly Dedham man and left him injured during a break-in, investigators said.
Nicholas M. Durfee, 35, was arraigned Thursday in Dedham District Court. He pleaded not guilty to unarmed assault to rob, assault and battery on a person over 60, and breaking and entering in the daytime to commit a felony. He was ordered held on $100,000 bail. If he makes bail, he will be confined to his home, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney's office.
The Commonwealth requested a bail of $250,000 and for bail to be revoked on an open case out of Somerville District Court.

On May 27, Durfee allegedly broke into the Upland Road home of an 89-year-old man. After the incident, the injured resident managed to gain the attention of two people passing by and asked them to contact police. Police responded around 3 p.m. and the victim was able to provide investigators with useful information, District Attorney Michael Morrissey said.
An arrest warrant was obtained by the Dedham Police Department on June 5 and Durfee was arrested near Shattuck Hospital in Boston Wednesday afternoon.

Durfee is due back July 8, 2016, for a pre-trial conference.
