High-Speed Chase Cuts Through State; Police Arrest Suspect

Police were involved in a high-speed chase that began in Walpole, went up Route 128, and ended in West Roxbury.

WALPOLE, MA—Police have reportedly taken into custody a suspect who led them on a chase several towns on Route 128.

The chase started in Walpole, where an officer pulled over the suspect. The man, whose name has not been released, drove away while Officer Matt Crown was in the window talking to him, according to NECN. Crown was dragged him 100 feet and transported to Brigham & Women's Faulkner Hospital in Boston.

The chase went from Walpole to West Roxbury, going up Route 1A in Norwood, Route 128, and Dedham before it ended in a residential neighborhood in West Roxbury, according to reports.

The suspect abandoned the vehicle after it caught on fire. Police took the suspect into custody at a building in West Roxbury.

State police, along with officers from Norwood, Newton, Dedham, Walpole, and Dedham were part of the chase and arrest. The involved officers are safe, according to Dustin Finch of the Massachusetts State Police.

Fire crews are at the scene were able to gain access to the trunk of the suspect's vehicle, taking out blankets and bags.

The suspect has arrived in Walpole for booking.
