Search Underway for Next Dedham Middle School Principal
If all goes according to schedule, the next principal could be announced before Spring Break.

DEDHAM, MA — Superintendent Michael Welch said last week that he expects to have a new principal of Dedham Middle School and eight other key positions announced by the time Spring Break begins.
During last week’s State of the Dedham Schools address, Welch laid out the timeline to hire the new head of the middle school. Currently, Margo Fraczek is serving as the interim principal.
“We want to make sure people know what to expect before they go away. It’s very aggressive but we’ve thought it through,” Welch said of the timelines.

According to the timeline, the posting has been posted and an ad is scheduled to run in the Boston Globe this Sunday. The job posting is scheduled to close on Feb. 3, with interviews to start Feb. 14. Finalists will be picked Feb. 17 with site visits and reference checks to follow in Match.
The candidate will be selected on March 17 and announced on March 22 pending successful contract negotiations.

Dedham has not had a permanent principal at the middle school since Debra Gately was placed on leave last April following an arrest for operating under the influence of liquor. The charge was continued without a finding and she was reassigned to a different position within the school district.
