Senators, We Can't Hear You?
Senators Warren and Markey, we ask your support of Dedham in opposition to the installation of a high-pressured gas pipeline.

Dear Senators Warren and Markey,
I request that you immediately intervene on behalf of the residents of Dedham in stopping the installation of a high pressured fracked gas pipeline through our town. Your opposition has been clear in previous letters to FERC in opposition to this project. Dedham currently needs you, and we can not hear you.
At the national level, both of you are extremely articulate about against regulations that favor big business including energy companies at the expense of families and local communities. FERC’s policies are certainly an example of bureaucratic processes that are meant to favor large corporations versus the rights of homeowners and local authorities. This pipeline is also a disaster in the making both for its safety concerns and significant potential health dangers to citizens.

Dedham currently is a real example of this, and I request that your roars of dissatisfaction be heard in Washington so loudly that we can hear you back in Dedham. Right now, we cannot hear you. We ask the following of you:
1. Demand that FERC immediately lift the tolling order imposed on this project to allow intervenors including the town of Dedham’s appeal to be heard at the federal level.

2. Demand that construction not proceed until all appeals have been heard. Construction is currently slotted to begin in Dedham on June 29th.
3. Seek any possible legislative or legal means to support Dedham residents in opposition of this pipeline that runs through residential neighborhoods including a soccer field used by hundreds of children everyday. The installation of a metering station directly adjacent to Boston’s blasting quarry makes no sense.
4. Assign specific legislative staff members to communicate and collaborate with local residents and officials in opposition to the installation of this pipeline.
I ask that you aggressively advocate for our children’s health and safety, our families, and the town of Dedham. Your decisive action on behalf of our town is desperately needed. We would like to hear your voices here in solidarity with your Dedham constituents.
