Slew Of Charges For Man After Alleged Violent Dedham Traffic Stop
State police say Carlos Andrade tried to drive away from a traffic stop on Route 128 with two troopers hanging from the vehicle.

DEDHAM, MA — A Brockton man faces over one-and-a-half dozens charges following a traffic stop on Route 128 in Dedham.
Carlos Andrade, 30, faces multiple assault, drug, and weapon charges from the incident, which took place during the overnight hours. During the stop, Andrade allegedly began a violent struggle after troopers got him out of the car and found illegal drugs on him.
State police conducted the stop at about 2:17 a.m. after observing that Andrade's vehicle, a 2000 Buick Century, did not have an inspection sticker. When state police found a plastic bag with what appeared to be suboxone in Andrade's pants pocket, the Brockton man allegedly jumped back into his car, put it into gear, and began to drive away as two troopers jumped into the car on top of him to subdue him and stop the car. Andrade allegedly drove about 12 yards with the two hanging onto the outside of the car, struggling with the suspect before the clutch was bumped into neutral. Troopers were then able to step on the brakes, and remove the keys from the ignition, police said.

Police say they needed to use a taser on Andrade twice during the struggle. After subduing and handcuffing Andrade, police allegedly found what appeared to be cocaine near his behind.
A search of the vehicle turned up a black, zip-style bag with a fully-loaded silver Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum handgun, along with four individually wrapped bags of a green vegetable matter believed to be marijuana.
