Suspect in Murder of Dedham Man Indicted

Gregory Wright, 36, of Randolph, was indicted for the murder of Dedham resident Drake Scott.

A man charged in a Randolph murder was was indicted by a Norfolk County Grand Jury Thursday.

Gregory Wright, 36, of Randolph, was indicted for the murder of Dedham resident Drake Scott. He is charged with murder, carrying a firearm without a license, resisting arrest and possession of a Class B drug, according to the Norfolk County's District Attorney's office.

On Feb. 17 shortly before 1 a.m., police received were responding to a reported disturbance outside when they heard gunshot outside of City Limits bar and music venue on North Main Street in Randolph. Officers quickly found and arrested Wright near the bar.

The victim was identified as Drake Scott, 23, of Dedham. During Wright's arraignment in Quincy District Court, Assistant District Attorney Greg Connor said the shooting as an “execution-style murder” according to WHDH, adding that there was no explanation or relationship between the two.

Wright is being held without bail.

No date has yet been set for his arraignment-after-indictment in Norfolk Superior Court.
