Temple Beth Avodah Celebrates Tashlich In Dedham

Everyone left feeling refreshed and renewed for the new year ahead!

From Temple Beth Avodah: On Tuesday, September 11, approximately twenty-five people came to the banks of the Charles River in Dedham to celebrate Tashlich. Tashlich is a ritual performed at a natural body of flowing water later in the day on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. The ceremony was led by Temple Beth Avodah’s Rabbi Keith Stern and Cantorial Soloist Susan Glickman. Children tossed oats into the water for the ducks. The adults wrote personal flaws on water soluble paper. They tossed the paper into the water to symbolically wash away the past. The group recited a few prayers and sang songs. Everyone left feeling refreshed and renewed for the new year ahead!

Temple Beth Avodah will be in Dedham again for a Community Hanukkah party at the Dedham Community House on Sunday, December 9 at 2:00 p.m. It’s free and will be fun for the entire family!
