3 SENIORS DAY CELEBRATION PLUS DSGS WINS BIG AGAINST MILLIS 3-0!

Thursday afternoon, the Dover-Sherborn High School campus was alive and energetic! The JV DSGS girls were playing in a match on the Farm Street field against the Millis JV team, the Field Hockey teams were practicing on the turf field along with the Football teams, the Cross Country teams were running along the edge of campus and the sun was beaming and it was a balmy day! The Varsity girls start heading into the locker room one by one to get ready for tonights events.  The Junior parents and team-mates busy decorating the bandstand with balloons and posters.  It would be the last home game on turf for the three Seniors-Captains Kasey Huemme and Jackie Goudreault and Sarah Tanner. Tonights match means a lot this team because they have been together now since mid-August and they have grown, bonded, and worked hard on and off the field.  Tonight was like no other and the girls knew what their mission was going to be.  Millis was our very first game and win of the season.  They are fast and furious and tonights battles win was far from easy.  To start off the evenings festivities, the Seniors and their parents were announced by Junior Captain Izzy Parizeau and given a beautiful bouquet of flowers.  Then the starting line-up was announced and all 3 Seniors would start and play the full 80 minutes.  The National Anthem was beautifully sung by Senior Rhys Conklin and then  the game begins!

Three goals were scored in tonight's match.  The first one was scored by Jackie Goudreault (unassisted), the next two goals were scored by Sophomore Rachel Shone with assists by (FR) Zoe Oasis and (SR) Sarah Tanner.  Tonights win was electric and proud moments were shared by all! First Varsity appearance by (FR) Emma White! Great jobs girls! DSGS would go on to win 3-0!

DSGS JV 3-2 win against Millis with a DS overall record 6-7-4!

DSGS TVL Varsity record: 10-3-4!

Millis TVL Varsity record: 8-6-3!

Saturday morning, the JV and Varsity teams  head to Jaffries, NH to climb Mt. Monadnock as a team bonding experience.  This hike was suggested by Head Coach Dave Wainwright and Coach Bob Willey.  As Captain parent Doug Parizeau instills in the experience of the season, "the girls worked hard to raise the money for DSGS and we wanted to invest it more in experiences and life-time memories." The girls will travel together on a coach bus and do team bonding activities!

DSGS has one season game left to play on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Westwood HS for a 6:30 PM kick-off. JV plays at 5 PM.  Come support our DS Athletic Teams!

Go Raider's!
