Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III to discuss immigrant communities and local economy at Irish International Immigrant Center's Business Leaders Breakfast

Join Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III and the IIIC at the Boston Harbor Hotel for a Discussion on Immigration

Boston, MA - On Thursday, April 2 at the Boston Harbor Hotel at Rowes Wharf, Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy III will share his thoughts on issues of concern to immigrant communities and the way that those communities shape the local economy during the Irish International Immigrant Center’s (IIIC) 6th Annual Business Leaders Breakfast. Congressman Kennedy has dedicated his career to public service and brings a firm commitment to social justice and economic opportunity to the U.S. House of Representatives. He currently sits on the House Committee on Energy & Commerce.

The IIIC will be making a special presentation to Mr. Gerard Doherty of a “Lifetime Award” and naming one of our classrooms in his honor for his long-standing support of Irish immigrants and on the occasion of his 88th birthday.

In addition to Congressman Kennedy, the Breakfast will feature immigrants who through the assistance of the IIIC, have established successful lives here in the U.S. including businessman Dave Greaney, of Synergy Investments, who came to the IIIC from Limerick, Ireland over 20 years ago; and Gabriele and Lucas Lomba two young students from Brazil who are now able to able to attend college, and enter the workforce. Jeannie Kain, IIIC managing attorney, and Chair of the New England Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, will share a brief legal perspective on the current status of President Obama’s Executive Action.

IIIC’s Business Leaders Breakfast brings together leaders from a variety of sectors for an engaging discussion on immigration, the economy and current issues facing Boston. The IIIC has proudly assisted immigrants from Ireland and around the world for over 25 years as they work to build new lives in the United States. All proceeds from the Business Leaders Breakfast will support IIIC’s legal, wellness, and education programs from immigrants from over 120 nations, and its exchange programs for young people from the island of Ireland.
