Dover Coronavirus: Annual Town Meeting Rescheduled
Dover's annual town meeting is rescheduled for June 1.
DOVER, MA — Dover's moderator issued a declaration on Tuesday rescheduling the annual town meeting for June. The measure comes as a way to limit the spread of the new coronavirus and promote social distancing guidelines.
Dover's annual town meeting was scheduled for May 4 — it has been postponed to June 1.
"Given the rapid spread of the disease, the limited testing conducted to date, the present lack of containment and the risk to vulnerable populations inherent in public gatherings, I conclude that delaying Annual Town Meeting is in the best interest of the Town and its citizens," reads a statement from the moderator.
