Dover Hit 'Particularly Hard' By Storm, Police Say

Over 90 percent of the town remained without power Thursday afternoon.

DOVER, MA – Over 90 percent of Dover is without power Thursday afternoon, according to MEMA. The agency's outage map showed 2,112 customers were in the dark as of 5:40 p.m.

Police said Dover was hit "particularly hard" by the storm, which resulted in downed wires, poles, transformers, trees and power lines across town. There is an "extraordinary amount" of damage, according to police.

Police ask residents to not call the station for updates on when power will be restored. In a statement Wednesday afternoon, police said Eversource Energy is anticipating it will be approximately a day before the majority of power in Dover is restored.
