Dover is State's Richest Community, Fourth in Country

Newton is among the 10 richest communities in Massachusetts, according to a new report.

The Boston Business Journal’s “Rich State, Poor State: The Most—and Least—Affluent Communities in Massachusetts” ranked Dover the No. 1most-affluent community. It is ranked No. 4 nationally.

The report was based on 12 metrics. These are Dover’s key statistics, according to BBJ:

• Population: 2,032
• Median household income: $168,690
• Median home value: $168,690
• Percent of workers earning $150,000+: 59.5 percent
• Adults with advanced degrees: 41.2 percent
