Olympic athlete, gold medalist, motivational speaker, actor, model, author, TV personality, adventurer, mountain climber, world champion, hall of famer, Unsung Hero of Compassion (per the Dalai Lama)............and paraplegic. These are all name-tags that can be attributed to Chris Waddell, a speaker invited to the Dover Sherborn schools by the DSMS POSITIVE and the DSHS PTO.
On the evening of October 22, Chris will screen his documentary 1Revolution. This film chronicles the heart and spirit behind an extraordinary achievement as it documents Chris's attempt to be the first paraplegic to ascend 19,340-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro using no assistance to propel his wheelchair up the mountain. 1 Revolution opens as dawn breaks atop Africa's tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Briefly, glimpses of the mountain frame Chris as he transfers to his specially designed handcycle. The air is tense as Chris begins the fifth day of his ascent. Etched within every movement he makes is the weighty knowledge that this may be his one chance to have the world see people like himself not as something less, but asequals and possibly as something more--as someone with something significant to contribute. If he makes the summit the world may understand his message; if he fails, he may be just another guy in a wheelchair.
1 Revolution is Chris's motto for this expedition and his life and happens to be the name of his charitable foundation. "One revolution means so many things to me. One revolution of the handcycle, one revolution of the earth, one lifetime, one moment, one chance to make a difference. The documentary is an important part of my climb, as my story is a visual one. People need to see to understand, " explains Chris.

The film will be shown at 7:30PM at Mudge Auditorium in Lindquist Commons. All members and guests of the Dover Sherborn community are invited to attend; donations to the One Revolution Foundation will graciously be accepted. Chris will be on hand to answer questions after the screening.
