July's Artist Of The Month At The Dover Town Library: Mark Richards

July's Artist of the Month exhibit at the Dover Town Library features art by Mark Richards. His oil paintings of the natural world around the Charles River are on display at the Dover Town Library for the month of July.

Here is his artist's statement:

I continue to seek out natural subjects that fulfill my love of the natural world. My images are my attempt to capture the spirit of time, place, season, atmosphere and mood with colors that are bold and vibrant. My touch is expressive.

Much of the seasonal themes are expressions of the cycle of life. Life and death, growth and change within the Charles River basin are evident in the many types and varieties of beautiful trees. Their long life cycles are dependent on the earth, rain and the terrain. The Charles River is an avenue of life.

These paintings are primarily from the Charles River in and around Needham. I hope viewers will take a second look at the beauty that is...All Around Us!
