Rediscover Ashland, June 9-16

Rediscover Ashland 2012, June 9-16, will bring residents from Ashland and neighboring towns together with businesses, retailers, home-based businesses, and community and nonprofit organizations to celebrate Ashland’s diverse resources. The eight-day event will have many free activities, including horse and buggy rides, a classic car and photography show, the Best of Ashland Pizza Contest, raffles, promotions, discounts and a Treasure Hunt for grand prizes and a $1,000 prize.

Saturday, June 9 (Kick off)

Events under the Big Tent at 126 Self Storage, 162 Pond St./Rt. 126.

• 9am-3pm: Expo – Businesses, Home businesses and Non-profits.
• 9am-3pm: Classic Car & Truck Show.
• 9am-3pm: Child ID Fingerprinting/Child Safety Program by the Ashland Police Department.
• 10am-2pm: Face Painting by Metrowest Face Painting, sponsored by RE/MAX Oak Realty.

Other Event Locations

• 9am-1pm: Grand Opening, Ashland Farmers’ Market, 125 Front Street, on the grassy area diagonally across from the Ashland Library. Live music, activities.
• 9am-3pm: Art Show featuring local artists, Abbey Carpet & Floor, 78 Union Street.
• 10am and Noon: Hands-on demo for all ages in Heimlich/choke saver given by CPR Services at 158 Pond Street (Rt. 126).
• 10am-1pm (rain date: Sat, June 16): Horse and buggy rides, Purple Ink Insurance Agency, 73 Main Street.
• 10am-2pm: Friends of the Library Book & Cupcake Sale, Ashland Library, 66 Front Street.
• 2pm-4pm: Open House at Starting Line Studio, 66 Cross Street.
• 2:30 pm: 2,500 HP Top Dragster & race cars start up, Powertune, 15 Alden Street.

Saturday, June 16 (Grand finale)

Events under the Big Tent at The Warren Conference Center & Inn, 529 Chestnut Street.

• 8:30am-4pm: Expo – Businesses, Home businesses and Non-profits.
• 8:30-10:30am: Hot Air Balloon Rides, sponsored by RE/MAX Oak Realty. Group of 4 - $10, or $2.50 per person.
• 9am-3pm: Raffle for $100 cash, Ashland Business Association.
• 9am-4pm: Teddy Bear Clinic, The Family Pet Hospital.
• 1-4pm: Photographer as Artist: Creative Expressions (Photography Show) and at 2pm: Historic House Tour, Warren House, The Warren Conference Center & Inn, 529 Chestnut Street (presented by the Ashland Cultural Council and the Off Center For Wild And Disobedient Creativity).

Other Event Locations

• Noon-2pm: Raffle for a $25 gift certificate. Drawing: 2 pm, Linda's Encore! 54 Front Street.
• Noon: ASHLAND'S GOT TALENT! Talent show, Backstage Dance Center, 300 Eliot Street. Ashland students (grade 1 and up) are eligible to perform for cash prizes.
