Ex-Dover-Sherborn HS Principal Faces Indecent Assault and Battery Charge

Authorities say Steven Bliss sexually assaulted a 14-year-old sometime between 2010-2011.

DOVER, MA — Months after having prostitution charges dropped, former CATS Academy Headmaster Steven Bliss faces new charges in Worcester District Court.

The former head of the Braintree-based private school was recently arraigned on a charge of indecent assault and battery, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. He was released on personal recognizance.

Authorities say the alleged assault happened between December 2010 and December 2011. They sayBliss gave a drink to a teen at his Worcester home and when the teen said it made him feel drowsy, Bliss inappropriately touched the teen.

In November, charges against Bliss for offering to engage in sex for a fee and human trafficking were dismissed.

Bliss was the principal of Dover-Sherborn High School from 2013-2015 and was a finalist for the Braintree Public Schools superintendent opening in 2015. He later became the headmaster of CATS Academy in Braintree, where he is no longer employed.
