DOVER, MA – Dover's former police chief Carl Sheridan has passed away, the Dover Police Department announced Monday. Sheridan served as chief of police from 1972-1994.Sheridan became a champion for Dover's senior citizens in his retirement, working as the outreach coordinator for the Council on Aging. On a Facebook post announcing Sheridan's passing, residents mourned the loss of the beloved chief.
