Natick and Sherborn to Receive Grants from DOER Green Communities Division

Representative Linsky announced that Natick and Sherborn are among the towns to receive Green Communities Grants from DOER.

BOSTON- Representative David P. Linsky (D-Natick) announced that two towns in his district – Natick and Sherborn – are among the towns to receive Green Communities Grants from the Department of Energy Resources (DOER).

The Green Communities Division of DOER strives to help all 351 cities and towns in Massachusetts find clean energy solutions that reduce long-term energy costs and strengthen local economies. Under the Green Communities Act, DOER’s Green Communities Designation and Grant Program can provide up to $20 million annually to qualified cities and towns. The goal of the program is to support communities’ investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that further the clean enemy goals determined by the designated communities.

“Throughout my career as a State Representative, I have been an ardent advocate for policies that have increased the Commonwealth’s investment in renewable energy and alternative fuels,” said Representative Linsky. “I am proud of the commitment of the Fifth Middlesex District towards a sustainable future, and applaud Natick and Sherborn for qualifying for these grants.”
