Sherborn's Nancy Hess Honored by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women

Representative David Linsky nominated Nancy Hess of Sherborn receive one of the 2017 Unsung Heroine Awards.

BOSTON- The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women (MCSW) held their fourteenth annual Unsung Heroines of Massachusetts Award Ceremony on Wednesday, June 21, at the State House. Each year, the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women recognizes deserving women from across the Commonwealth who have made a difference in their community without seeking attention.

This year, Representative David Linsky (D-Natick) nominated Nancy Hess of Sherborn to receive one of the 2017 Unsung Heroine Awards. Nancy has served on the Sherborn Benevolent Society for a number of years. In this role, she helps the organization fulfill its mission to bring relief to her neighbors who have fallen on hard times. Whether it is providing food for a table, clothes for children, heat for a home, or simple companionship, Nancy has dedicated much of her life to helping so many of the families in our community and throughout the Commonwealth. In addition to her charitable efforts, Nancy is a committed public servant who has served as the Collector for the Town of Sherborn for a number of years.

Thank you, Nancy, for the impact you have on our community, and the Commonwealth as a whole, and to all of the women honored by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women yesterday, whose dedication to their work make the Commonwealth a better place for us all.
