Superintendent Responds to Dover-Sherborn Named Top School

Newsweek named Dover-Sherborn High as one of the top schools in the country. Its interim superintendent responds.

Just in time for the start of the school year, Newsweek released its annual list Wednesday of the top public high schools in America for 2015, and Dover-Sherborn landed near the top.

In a ranking that includes 500 schools, Dover-Sherborn High School landed near the top at 16.

Bill McAlduff, Dover-Sherborn’s interim superintendent, told he was “certainly aware of the high school’s reputation for excellence.”

“I am pleased to have the opportunity over the course of the upcoming school year to work with such a fine and talented administration, faculty/staff, and students at the High School as well as our middle and elementary schools,” said McAlduff. “I am confident that the dedicated work of administration, staff, students, parents, and school committees will allow for continued success and excellence.”

The rankings were compiled using several metrics, including graduation rate, college enrollment rate, SAT and ACT scores, AP and IB scores and participation, teacher-student ratio and dropout rates.
