November 4 "Vote & Donate" Election Day food drive.
The Sherborn Town Clerk and Student Directors of the Sherborn Community Center organizes "Vote & Donate" Election Day food drive.

The Sherborn Town Clerk, together with the Student Directors of the Sherborn Community Center Foundation, will again run their Election Day Food Drive to benefit “A Place to Turn” in Natick. Collection of non-perishable food items will take place Tuesday, November 4, at Sherborn Town Hall, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.
The first food drive, held on Election Day in September, was very successful. Joanne Barry, Executive Director of “A Place To Turn,” said, “We were so impressed by the amount of food donated! Great voter participation! A Place To Turn has been very busy, and we were able to get all the food you collected on the shelves immediately - it takes a caring community to help us fight hunger.”
Our economy leaves many of our neighbors in the Metrowest community without jobs, or making too little to support and feed their families. Between utilities, rent, clothing for the kids, and transportation, many families run out of money before the end of the month and “A Place To Turn” provides relief by offering emergency food and clothing. The organization serves those in need in an atmosphere of caring and mutual respect. “A Place to Turn” feeds approximately 8,000 of our neighbors annually (most of them children), but their ability to meet these needs is only made possible by the donations of a generous community.
