Weekend Planner: Live Entertainment, Spring Festival and Nature Walk

Here's a look at the weekend ahead for May 18-20.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don't cut it anymore, then don't worry, D-S Patch is here to assist you! 1. Back Pages to Perform at the Sherborn Inn

Where/When: , 33 North Main St., Sherborn, Fri. May 18, 8:30 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Why Go: The band Back Pages will be playing at the Sherborn Inn in the main dining room.

2. Powisset Farm Spring Festival and Seedling Sale

Where/When: Powisset Farm, 39 Powisset St, Dover; Saturday, May 19, 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Why Go: Powisset Farm will kick off the farming season with farm tours, guided nature walks, live music, projects for kids, seedling sale, and vendors selling plants, crafts and food.

3.  Wylde Woods Walk 

Where/When: , 105 Centre St., Dover; Saturday May 19, 10:30 a.m. - noon.

Why Go: The Dover Open Space Committee invites you to join them for a walk through Wylde Woods guided by Jerry Arnold and Amey Moot.  There will be two groups, a short walk for kids and a longer walk. Meet at the parking turn off just past 105 Centre Street.  Walk will be held in misty rain to shine.

4. Artist Demonstration at Dover Church

Where/When: , 17 Springdale Ave., Dover; Sunday, May 20, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Why Go: Sherborn Artist, William Ternes, will hold a painting demonstration at the Dover Church's new art gallery.  Bill has been creating water color and oil paintings for over fifty years and has lectured about his painting techniques to numerous art associations in New England.

5. Zullo Gallery, Center For The Arts, Artist's Reception

Where/When: Where/When: , 456 Main St., Medfield; Friday, May 18, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Zullo Gallery, Center For the Arts, will hold an artist's reception for its latest art exhibit entitled: "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition". This exhibit is heavily influenced by the launch of its first “one-town, one-book” selection of 'Outwitting History' by Aaron Lansky. "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition," according to Zullo Gallery, features artwork that reflects any aspect of the artists' personal cultural legacy, whether family heritage, lessons or experiences learned from previous generations, or stories from the past.  The reception is free and open to the public.  "Outwitting History: A Juried Exhibition" will run from April 5, 2012 through June 24, 2012.
