Welcome an Italian Student!

Discover Italy without leaving your home

An Italian High School Leadership program is coming to our area this July! 11 Italian high school students were selected to take part in this pilot initiative and will arrive in MA on July 12th for a 3-week program. Each student will live with the local family to discover the daily life of the American people. During the weekdays the students will have a full ‘camp-like’ leadership enhancement program, organized by the local MA teacher. It will include 9 hours of English classes per week, workshops on U.S. Politics and Government, as well as sightseeing trips to Boston and local attractions.

We invite local families to join the program by welcoming one of the finalists in their home. Families are asked to provide a bed (a room can be shared with a host sibling) and meals at home. Get a new son or daughter from Italy, discover the beautiful culture without leaving your home, and get a friend for life that you could visit. We hope the program will become reciprocal, with the group of American teens traveling to Italy on a leadership program next year.

Families with younger children should consider joining the program as they can give their children a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an older sibling and a role model. Families with or without children, retirees, empty nesters and single persons are welcome to apply. The students prepared delicious recipes to share with their hosts and will be happy to treat them to some amazing authentic dishes.

If interested in this pilot Italian Leadership Program, please email Nora at info@wep-usa.org or call WEP-USA national office at 1-800-779-3319 for more information. Make a difference for your family, your community, and your world!
