• No injuries in East Longmeadow dumpster, basement fires (wwlp.com) — East Longmeadow firefighters responded Monday to two separate fires in town, one involving burning filters in a dumpster at Lenox Manufacturing and another in basement insulation on Indian Springs Road. Both fires were quickly extinguished and, importantly for residents, no injuries were reported. Officials have not yet determined the cause, but there’s no indication of ongoing danger. 
• Massachusetts officials urge e-bike safety as fires increase statewide (westernmassnews.com) — East Longmeadow riders are being urged to handle e-bikes and their batteries more carefully as state fire officials report a sharp rise in e-bike-related fires. A local bike shop manager in town stresses buying higher-quality models and checking batteries for corrosion, while Springfield fire officials advise charging bikes outdoors and using only manufacturer-approved chargers. New statewide legislation could soon add speed-based regulations and possible registration for faster e-bikes.
