"Being Crazy Isn't Enough" - Dr. Seuss

Dr. Seuss says crazy isn't enough. Call me crazy, but I think he's onto something...

Someone called me crazy the other day; it happens all the time - and here's why:

I'm crazy in love with my 3 children. They are my greatest source of joy and my greatest challenge.  They inspire me to be a better person and make every day brighter.  They keep me young while greying my hair one strand at a time.  You can be sure there isn't anything I wouldn't do for them.  Crazy fun filled days keep us smiling even when pushed to our limits.

I go crazy when I feel like I'm not doing enough to make the world a better place for them. I want them to be happy, healthy and successful.  Crazy dreams of rich lives filled with records of their accomplishments and lives eagerly fed by self-confidence and a healthy balance of self-discipline and fun.

I'm crazy about agriculture. It feeds my family, colors their landscape and sustains their planet.  Agricultural literacy and ecological appreciation will protect their heritage and ensure the future inheritance of a sustainable planet. Food grown organically, harvested naturally and replaced bountifully will ensure better lives for all of us.

I've been going stir crazy sitting about the house waiting for the warmer days of spring to welcome us back outside.  Snow may still be piled on the north side of the house - but I'm thinking about doing something crazy.  Maybe shovel that snow off the lawn and into the perennial beds for some old fashioned fertilization and deep root watering.

Yes, I'm crazy alright.  Nuttier than an acorn and sillier than a snail on roller skates.  I also have plans for a great year ahead - crazy, wonderful plans...  to be shared and enjoyed - one square foot at a time.
