Easton Police Officer, 2 Good Samaritans Save Man Trapped In Burning Car: Video
The man was trapped after a wreck involving a dump truck, a pickup and a passenger car, police said.

EASTON, MA — An Easton police officer and two good Samaritans saved a man trapped in a burning car, body cam video shows.
Officers responded to a three-vehicle crash on Turnpike Street near Chase Landing about 2:15 a.m. Friday, the Easton Police Department said in a media release.

"The first officer t o arrive, Patrol Officer Dean Soucie, encountered two vehicles engulfed in flames," the release said.

"Bystanders alerted Officer Soucie that an individual was trapped inside one of the vehicles," the release said. "With assistance from two bystanders, Officer Soucie broke the driver's side window, accessed the trapped operator, and successfully removed the individual from the vehicle, bringing him to safety."

The initial investigation indicates a southbound 2013 Ford F-350 struck the back of an unoccupied, disabled 1993 Mack dump truck, trapping the driver, who was the sole occupant, according to the release.
"A third vehicle, a 2024 Toyota Camry, then collided with the rear of the F-350 and immediately caught fire," the release said. "The operator and sole occupant o f the Camry was able to exit the vehicle without injury."

The driver of the Ford F-350, a 78-year-old Raynham man, was taken by ambulance to a
local hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
