Dan Smith - A Candidate With Experience, Perspective and Insight to Help Envision Easton
Vote for Easton's present & future growth in our economy, business, education and quality of life.

Letter to the Editor of the Easton Patch:
I have had the opportunity to serve on the Easton Planning and Zoning Board with Dan Smith since his appointment in June, 2010. Today, I am endorsing Dan as a candidate for the Easton Board of Selectmen.
As a member of the Planning and Zoning Board, Dan is well prepared for each issue that comes before the Board for consideration. He investigates each matter, asks thoughtful, pertinent questions and considers each issue from various points of view before he expresses his reasoned opinion. Dan recognizes that there is often a need to balance the requests of the property owner /developer, the concerns of the abutters and the best interests of the Town. If elected, Dan will bring his sense of balance, perspective and insight to the Board of Selectmen.

One of Dan’s priorities is to encourage smart and sustainable economic development and investment in our historic downtown and appropriate sites throughout community. He has professional experience in government relations, economic and business development and environmental and technology matters which will assist Easton to continue to move in an economically and environmentally positive direction. Creating an opportunity for business growth and job development can expand our tax base. From Dan’s point of view, this will allow Easton to further invest in our schools, public safety and other public resources that sustain and enrich our community.
Like many residents of Easton, Dan and his wife, Jenn, moved to Easton seven years ago because of the quality of community life and excellent public school system. Another of Dan’s priorities is investing in technology and innovation in both our schools and municipal services. In order to keep our students (k-12) prepared for both two and four year colleges, future jobs and life in general, we need to educate our children/grandchildren in STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Dan Smith supports STEM education because it is essential to the sustained progress of our educational system and ultimately, the viability of our community.
