Generations of mothers have enjoyed receiving flowers and sweets as Mother’s Day recognizes the special place they occupy in our hearts and lives. What better way to broaden the smile than planting roses of recognition in their honor!

The oh-so-popular "Knock-Out Rose" bushes are easy on the eyes, easy to maintain and easy on the budget priced at $32.00 for each 3-gallon specimen. While you’re shopping, don’t forget to stop into the Easton Garden Club’s Annual Plant Sale at the Yardley Rink – you may even find something special for yourself! All mothers are unique and of course personalization makes it hers so FEPG encourages you to take the following weeks to look for those special touches to really “knock her out”! Consider these complements to a beautiful Knock-Out Rose Bush…
For the Gardening Mom - Every time she waters she will be reminded of you - consider also adding a gardening journal, photo of her family in the garden, shade hat or maybe a new pair of gloves for those green thumbs of hers!
For the Expectant Mom - If a little one is on the way, how exciting to watch the rose bush grow with baby through the years! Consider also adding a little pampering - certificate for massage or future babysitting services - don't forget coordinated mum and babe gardening tools!
For the Super Mom - She does it all! She brings home the bacon and fries it up in the pan. She runs a great taxi service and convenient bed and breakfast with kitchen that never closes. Consider personalizing with homemade coupons to her favorite digs and a luxurious breakfast in bed - cereal never looked so good!
For the Stepmom - She makes your Dad happy and fills out the family. Consider adding an invitation to lunch where you can spend some quality time showing her she's part of the family!

For the Sporty Mom - Roses keep the yard beautiful and provide a nice backdrop for those kick-boxing warm-ups! Try rounding out the gift with her favorite perfume, new water bottle or yoga mat.
For the Iron Chef Mom - Roses she can cut for her table arrangements are over the top when paired with an assortment of herbs for that kitchen garden. Spice up those fantastic meals of hers and score yourself some good old fashioned cooking!
For the Neighbor or Friend that loves you like mom - Roses, smiles and good thoughts are never lost on a good friend.
Did you know?... THE SUNKEN ROSE GARDEN - Wayside Estate
Wayside Estate - Easton Town Offices at 136 Elm Street was formerly the home of Mr. and Mrs. Louis A. Frothingham. This classic Georgian Revival home featured a distinguished landscape punctuated by a series of perennial flower beds and most notably pine grove, allee and rose garden. This award winning garden was designed through a collaboration between world renowned rosarian Harriette Risley Foote and Olmsted protege Herbert Kellaway. While the entrance to Springhill has paved over any hopes of restoring this former gem - remnants and photographs of the iron garden ornament, balustrade and plantings promise to cultivate the memories for generations.
