OA Freshman Football Shutout Foxborough to Stay Undefeated

The OA defense lead by Joey Tepper and Jordan Schuster-Southern help shut down the Foxborough Freshman Football Team Thursday night in Foxborough. A 60 yard touchdown run by Ferrara secures win.

The OA Freshman Football Team overcame rainy conditions Thursday night and the defense grabbed two interceptions and recovered two fumbles to reach 6-0 for the season.

Scoring started early for OA when Quarterback John McMillan ran 22 yards for the first TD and with the missed 2-point conversion OA had a 6-0 lead. Foxborough than had a 10 minute drive come to a quick end when Jordan Schuster-Southern recovered a fumble on the OA 20 yard line.

The OA possession didn't last long as they fumbled the ball to give Foxborough another chance. However, Dan Sullivan blocked a 3rd down pass attempt to force a punt. Now with time running low in the 2nd quarter, Joey Tepper kept the drive alive with a gutsy run to secure a first down. With momentum on their side Cam McGrath took a handoff from McMillan and ran 60 yards off the right-side to the Foxborough 14 yard-line. OA failed on its scoring attempt to end the half with a 6-0 lead.

The 3rd quarter started with a controversial fumble recovery call which gave OA the ball on their 25 yard line. McMillan and Tepper each carried the ball for first downs than watched Mike Ferrara cut through the Foxborough defense for a 60-yard TD run to make it a 12-0 lead for OA.

The fourth quarter started with an OA interception by cornerback Tristan Flynn which gave OA the ball on their 30 yard line. The Tigers than entrusted the ball to fullback Joey Tepper who carried five defenders for a first down on 4th and 1 and kept the offense on the field.The drive ended when Foxborough intercepted McMillan with 4 minutes left on the clock.

Foxborough had a tough time moving the ball against the solid Tiger defense lead by Patrick McNeely and Joey Tepper and eventually lost the ball on an interception by Schuster-Southern to win the game and secure the shutout.

The Freshman take on Mansfield next Thursday at Home.
