OA Junior Varsity Football Squad Routs N. Quincy 46-12
OA's offense gets in gear to rout the North Quincy Warriers at home Saturday 46-12.

The Oliver Ames JV football team defeated a 16-man North Quincy squad Saturday afternoon in Easton to run its record to 2-0.
The scoring started on OA's first drive with Mike Ferrara running up the middle for a 6-yd TD and kicking the extra point for a 7-0 lead. The ensuing kickoff by the Tigers was recovered by OA after going ten yards. They wasted no time getting into the endzone again as John McMillan connected on a 25 yard TD pass to Xavier Leroy. With a Ferrara extra point the score was 14-0. North Quincy came back with a touchdown after two OA penalties and they were on the board but the 2-point conversion was intercepted by Cam Williamson and the score was then 14-6.
Still in the 1st quarter, John McMillan doubled back on a run to his left-side and rambled 51 yards for another Tiger touchdown and a 21-6 score after another Mike Ferrara extra point kick. The quarter ended on a nice interception by Tristan Flynn after the quarterback was hit by Dan Sullivan.

The second quarter started with more scoring as running back Cam McGrath powered his way through the Warrier defense for an 11 yd TD run which made the score 27-6.
Special teams and defense came up with big plays throughout the day as Colin Gagliardi made a great tackle on the N. Quincy kickoff return and Sam Kelly picked-off a Warrier pass at their 48 yrd line and ran 20 yards to put OA back in scoring position. Ferrara got the call and ran 13 yards for another TD and after missing the extra point the score was 33-6.

With starting QB John McMillan now on the sidelines, the Tigers turned to Mike Ferrera to play quarterback and running backs Colin O'Hearne, Cam McGrath, Anthony(P-dog) Petrillo and Brandenn Jenkins to run out the clock. With 1:15 left in the quarter, Ferrara took advantage of the constant holes the offensive line was opening and sprinted for a 25 yd TD and a 39-6 lead in the third quarter.
The North Quincy team was still fighting and they engineered a drive leading to a quarterback keeper and 2 yd run for another touchdown. The 2 pt. conversion was intercepted by Jameson Dixon and that was the end of their scoring. Unfortuately for N. Quincy, they had to kick the ball back to the Tigers and running back Brandenn Jenkins. Jenkins made his carries count as he was given the ball four consecutive plays and banged his way through a tired N. Quincy team for a 41 yd TD run. With Ferrara's fourth extra point of the game, the score was now 46-12 and the OA defense shut down the Warriers to end the game.
