Two Easton Soccer Players in National Championship Tournament

Two Easton youth soccer players in prestigious National Tournament

The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is coming to Kingston, Rhode Island on June 27th to July 2nd.  The Championship is part of the country's most prestigious national youth soccer tournament.  Two players from Easton, Liam Brown and Thomas McCormick, will be competing in the Regional Tournament as members of the Bruno United Soccer U14 Boys Team.

The Championships are a competition of the US Youth Soccer State Champions from 15 Eastern states, including the recently crowned Rhode Island and Massachusetts teams.  Following individual state tournaments, the Regional Championships are the second step of the US Youth Soccer National series.  Winners of the tournament advance to the National Championships in Overland Park, Kansas later this summer.

The tournament will attract more than 260 boys and girls teams, ages Under-12 through Under-19 from the 15 Eastern US Region 1 Associations (CT, DE, Eastern NY, Eastern PA, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, Western NY, RI, VT, VA and WVA).

With more than 17,000 youth soccer players in RI, Bruno United Soccer Club attracts and trains the best players in the area.  The Club's Director, John Tomlinson of Portsmouth, is confident the Bruno teams will be successful at the tournament.  "This is what we work for all year.  Our players are well prepared and really excited about facing off against some great teams."  Tomlinson encourages Rhode Islanders to come out to URI to support our local players and their competitors from across the East Coast.  Tomlinson welcomes any questions related to the tournament or Bruno United and can be reached at jtomlinson@brunounited.com.
