Crescent Credit Union Announces Program With New England Revolution, Old Colony YMCA
The YMCA is involved in a summer initiative with the Revolution and the credit Union.

Crescent Credit Union has teamed up with the for a summertime initiative to bring the New England Revolution professional soccer club to kids in Brockton.
“The program that Crescent Credit Union is doing with the YMCA and the New England Revolution exemplifies a strong commitment to producing change in the city, and a willingness to help residents in ways that go beyond the traditional role of financial institutions,” said Brockton Mayor Linda Balzotti.

“We’ve made a commitment to the youth of Brockton,” said Jonah Wein, Vice President of Marketing at Crescent Credit Union.” “The initiative with the Revs and Old Colony YMCA in bringing pro soccer to Brockton is an extension of that commitment.”
The program kicks off Tuesday, July 26 at Brockton’s Snow Park, where Crescent Credit Union will sponsor a New England Revolution player appearance during that evening’s Brockton After Dark soccer program. Scheduled to appear is All Star defender Kevin Alston. Parents are encouraged to bring their children to the event for this rare opportunity to meet a professional soccer player.

The Revolution will also have a presence at the Brockton Cape Verdean Day Festival, Sunday, July 31 at Keith Field Park. Attendees are invited to stop by Crescent Credit Union’s tent for prizes and surprises, and an opportunity to win tickets to a New England Revolution professional soccer match.
The main event for the program takes place Saturday evening, August 20, as the New England Revolution host international superstar Thierry Henry and the New York Red Bulls at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium. Coordinated through the Old Colony YMCA, one hundred Brockton youth ages 10 to 17 will attend the match with transportation and supervision provided.
“It is important for kids to have this type of opportunity, to experience soccer on a professional level, and on a scale such as at Gillette Stadium,” said Vivian Rene, Associate Executive Director, Community Development at the Old Colony YMCA, Brockton. “We are excited to team with the Revolution and Crescent Credit Union to make this happen,” he added.
