“Following the success of last year’s program, we were eager to step it up this summer,” said Crescent’s VP of Marketing Jonah Wein. “We’re delighted that it’s come together in the fashion it has, and we extend our most sincere thanks to the pro club, the Old Colony YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton for making it happen.”

This year’s program begins Thursday, July 12 at the Brockton After Dark soccer event to be held at Marciano Stadium at Brockton High School. The pro team’s mascot, and members of their promotional squad will be on hand. In addition, kids will get to participate in a speed kick challenge. Parents are invited to bring their children to this event to measure just how fast they can kick a soccer ball.

Two weeks later, on Thursday, July 26, four youth coaches from the premier professional club and two first team players will host a coaching clinic at Marciano Stadium for one hundred Brockton youth. Registration for this event is required.

“Brockton is a very strong soccer community, and the Brockton after Dark Soccer program continues to grow,” said Vivian Rene, Associate Executive of Community Development at the Old Colony YMCA. “This soccer initiative will provide an opportunity to connect participants with professional soccer coaches and players right here in Brockton.”

“We’re grateful to Crescent Credit Union and the premier professional soccer club in New England for the opportunity to be involved in a program that brings so many positives to the city,” said Jenni White, Chief Operating Officer at the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton. “It brings an added dimension to our summer program, which is exciting for both kids and parents alike.”

The program’s finale will be Sunday, August 12 as the New England Revolution host the Montreal Impact at Foxboro’s Gillette Stadium. Coordinated through the Old Colony YMCA and the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton, two hundred Brockton youth will travel to the match to see their favorite players in action.
