Drug Kiosk Set Up at Easton Police Station

Residents can drop of unwanted medications at the police station.

The Board of Health was awarded a grant which was used to purchase a drug kiosk for the disposal of unwanted medications. This kiosk is located for the convenience of Easton residents in the Police lobby at 46 Lothrop St.

The Grant was through the 2012 Local Public Health Mini-Grant Program – sponsored by the Massachusetts DPH in association with the Massachusetts Association of Health Boards.  Previously the police department only accepted unwanted medications once a year during the town’s annual hazardous waste day.  Now the public can drop off unwanted medications at their convenience.  Needles are not presently accepted but the police department, Board of Health and Easton Fire Department are looking into ways to make it easier for the public to properly dispose of needles.  Storing unwanted or expired medications in a home can be dangerous, the kiosk allows for an environmentally safe way to dispose of these items.

Drop off of unwanted medications can be done 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
