Easton Celebrates Memorial Day, Remembers Fallen Heroes
Hundreds line the streets to watch Memorial Day Parade
Whether it be for Easton, America, our servicemen or the ones we've lost, "pride" was the theme Monday afternoon as Easton residents celebrated Memorial Day.
The annual parade and ceremony wasn't short on participants. Members from the George F. Schindler Post 2547 of the , American Legion Post 7, cub scouts and girl scouts, Marching Band, and and walked from the Church Street Cemetery to the Civil War Monument on the corner of Depot Street and Center Street.
"It's very nice when I see people here of all ages," said Ross Muscato before reciting the Gettysburg Address as part of the ceremony. Muscato also noted the 150th anniversary of the Civil War while recognizing the 47 men from Easton who served in the war.

Members from the American Legion led the way in the parade, handing out flags to observers who sat in lawn chairs or on stone walls along Depot Street. Ernest Camara of the VFW directed the ceremony, which consisted of a prayer and a Pledge of Allegiance.
Camera and American Legion representative Louis Silva presented Easton's Ken Wood with honorary parade marshal honors. Wood served in the the Army Reserve beginning in 1957 and was honorably discharged in 1970. He is also an active member of the Easton Lions Club and the

Easton resident Anne Disanto led renditions of America the Beautiful and God Bless America before VFW Commander Alvin Smart and American Legion Commander Joseph Moran recited the "Reading of the War Dead."
