Hosted by George Comeaux, who has self-published a few chapbooks of his lyrical poetry, including some verses which have been set to music.
Ann Marie Burke, a Medical Interior Designer, will read her unique "ekphrastic" poetry (writing that comments on another art form), with verses that are reflections on her own art work, which she will bring to the reading.
Richard Berg, a businessman/entrepreneur from his youth, will bring performance poetry to the library. Rich contradicts his nickname, "Shorty," with the knockout-punch power of his words, his conviction, and his
delivery.
Charlie Large, a member of the Greatest Generation, will
read traditional poetry, including verses he composed for his girlfriend by infra-red light during battle stations on the U.S.S. Ticonderoga in WWII. A retired firefighter, Charlie boarded a bus with other firefighters to help reclamation work in New York City days after the 9/11. His poem about a first-grader who lost her father in the towers "sailed around the internet" in the aftermath of that event.
